Revival Round Results

It was a fast pace and boring revival round. I guess they are stressful, because there's only 1 vacancy for each gender, and the tight programme schedule. Almost all contestants didn't put up their best performance, some didn't improve at all, some crashed after venturing into risk zones, some wasn't even close to standards, and only Jiaqi, Elaine, and Shawn made an impression with their good performance.

After the boring revival round, popularity was the only deciding factor. In the end, Huixian and Shawn managed to beat the rest and be advanced to the semi-finals.

Revival Round [16/07]

[-h2o-]
You delivered the song with the required power in singing. A confident and good performance from you, as first appearing contestant. There were parts of the song, when you sounded lack of 气. And you didn't 'press' down the lower keys, hence sounded unstable. Overall, performance was energetic and up to standards.

September
You got a very unique voice. Your 音飘 when there was high notes. Do take note of your 咬字.

[-h2o-]
Your lower keys sounded blurry, and there was obvious enunciation problem initially. Your body and facial expressions were still as stiff as before. However, you sang the chorus very well, with good emotions. Generally, no improvement from previous.

September
Good performance, a great improvement as compared to your past performance. You actions looked stiff especially when you raised your hand. I give you a higher marks because this song is quite difficult to sing.

[-h2o-]
You looked sweet and pretty on tv. Singing didn't sound bad, in fact I like your voice, but the technics were wrong. You sang the song with too much strength, making your rendition sounded forceful and no variation with verse & chorus. You didn't have sang the song straight and direct without reflex. There were also some off pitch problems.

September
Your voice is sweet. There wasn't any feel and emotions to the song. Your tempo was abit off.

[-h2o-]
You were very unstable tonight. You went offbeat all over the song. I heard you were trembling alot, either you were nervous or lack of 气. You were totally not in the mood of competing, totally off form. It was definitely a wrong choice of song.

September
Your tempo was slower than the song. You sounded 气不够-tended to retard in the middle of the words.

[-h2o-]
You were still the chirpy and cheerful girl on stage. You looked very lively. Good effort on stage. However, the weird enunciation with the irritating tone were back. You sounded lack of 气 too. You have the appearance for fast songs, but you can't sing it.

September
This song is difficult at the begining as you need to really get control of the beat. There was alot of 断 in between. I like your stage presence. Confident, and moved like a superstar.

[-h2o-]
Tonight wasn't your best performance. You went off pitch during low keys. And your low keys were unstable. But your chorus brought the soul of song back, it was really nice and touching. Good emotions. However, towards the last part's 拉音 you went off. Hope the votes make you go thru', good luck!

September
Emotion was there. You started steadily and confidently. Only some high notes you couldn't reach (hanging somewhere, not hitting the notes)

[-h2o-]
Your low keys were unstable, high keys also unstable. Your offbeat, and offpitch problems were obviously everywhere. You sounded slightly better during chorus. Overall, it was an amateur singing performance.

September
Your 咬字!! I dont know why, but you tended to "flat" the notes at the end of every sentence. Good point is you are engaging with the audience.

[-h2o-]
Junjie, you really started off well. I was touched by your singing initially. In the beginning, you were as good as last week. However, your confidence dropped rapidly, after you slipped and made a mistake. After that, you continued to make other mistakes, went off pitch and couldn't hit the notes. You could have done better.

September
You got alot of 沙音. Sore throat? The end notes for each sentence sounded "shivering". You are especially weak at the high notes especially towards the end of the song. Can see that you are disappointed.

[-h2o-]
You choose a very safe song. I thought your rendition didn't have the soul and groove. The feel wasn't there. There was not variation in your rendition too. Overall, no major mistakes, but it was a boring performance.

September
This song suits you. You sang the way it should be. High notes are managed well.

[-h2o-]
You were monotonous, and didn't sound like you were singing. Your enunciation was terrible. There was no emotions. There was no efforts observed.

September
Yyou were just mumbling through. Your pronounciation is weak. It's 睡着 instead of sui4.

[-h2o-]
You were creative in your rendition. The feel was there and I felt the emotions. However, you sounded weak during 假音 and the transitions. It was a wrong choice of song. Overall, not bad, at least better than some contestants in this round.

September
Good that you sang your own style. Your high notes are ok, but there's still room for improvement. You sounded abit 沙 too.

[-h2o-]
There was punch in your rendition. It was groovy. Your voice was bright, unlike the precious rounds. There was definitely improvements. You chose the right song. You were very lively on stage. Your performance was aggressive, you definitely want to advance. Good job!

September
Confident. Looks like you really want to get back to the competition and join the other contestants for the next rounds.
